After graduating from Emerson College, Aaron Barrocas started his professional career as an Associate Producer on several early 2000’s E! series, including many “The Anna Nicole Show” specials, “Dr. 90210”, and “Infamous”. In 2005, he became a Producer on “The Soup With Joel McHale”, directing and overseeing post on weekly scripted field pieces at a breakneck pace and minimal budget. He moved on to direct field pieces and oversee all post on spinoff series “Sports Soup with Matt Iseman”.
In 2007, Aaron teamed up with Josh Brolin to edit a short comedy documentary, on spec, lampooning the Coen Brothers handling of the “No Country for Old Men” production. Thankfully, the duo appreciated the humor, and purchased the movie for release on the Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray. Aaron’s other editing projects include “L.A. Ink”, “The World Series of Poker”, ‘TMZ on TV”, “Chef’s Night Out” for VICE, and “X Games Aspen 2017”, as well as several short documentaries for DC Comics, many narrative webseries, and various reality sizzle reels.
Two features that Aaron edited have won festival awards. “Take 22: Behind The Scenes of Sequestered”, a feature mockumentary, won Best Feature at Hollywood Mockfest 2010, and “Mike Case in The Big Kiss Off” a film-noir comedy, won Best Director, Best Actor, and the Grand Jury Prize at the 2013 Hollywood & Vine Film Festival.
In addition to Post, Aaron has continued writing and producing throughout his career. In 2013, he produced several stories for the daily pop-culture news series “Dish Nation”, and created several branded advertising pieces for SpinMedia’s clients, including Office Depot and Sony Pictures, serving as writer, producer, director, and editor.
In 2016, Aaron’s original screenplays garnered several contest nods, including winning third place in the StoryPros 10th Annual International Screenplay Contest, and being a finalist in the Second City Comedy Screenplay Contest, among other Finalist and Semifinalist wins.
He sees himself as an enthusiastic participant in an exciting and ever-changing industry, and takes pride in each project he helps to create.
